IMPCO Automotive, a business unit of Fuel System Solutions Inc., and a designer, manufacturer and supplier of alternative fuel components and systems for use in transportation applications, announced it has received certification by the California Air Resources Board for its Dedicated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fuel Systems on several 2011 Ford and General Motors vehicle applications, including:
• Ford E-150 / 250 and 250 Econoline Vans with 5.4L V8 engines;
• Ford E-450 Econoline Cut Away Cab Chassis with 6.8L 2v V8 engines;
• Ford F-450 / 550 Super Duty Trucks with 6.8L 3v V8 engines;
• General Motors 2500 / 3500 Express / Savana Vans with 4.8L and 6.0L V8 engines;
• General Motors 4.8L V8 engine for heavy-duty applications, 10,001 to 14,000 lbs. GVW; and

IMPCO Automotive previously has received certification for these vehicles and engines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. “We are excited to continue to expand our offering of products to convert popular General Motors and Ford trucks from gasoline to clean burning, plentiful, domestic CNG,” says Rob Lykins, IMPCO Automotive director of sales and marketing. “Our innovative fuel systems enable fleets and vehicle operators to significantly lower their operating costs and reduce emissions while, at the same time, avoid reliance on foreign oil during these times of rising fuel prices.”

IMPCO Automotive offers fleet customers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) turnkey CNG and liquid propane gas (LPG) system installations at its plant in Union City, Ind., and via its network of distributors/installers throughout North America.
