Xata Corp. announced that Scott Meyer has been promoted from senior vice president of marketing to chief marketing and strategy officer, and that Steve Chamberlain has been hired as executive vice president of field operations.

Meyer is responsible for brand management, lead generation, product marketing, market development and marketing communications, as well as helping the company further refine and execute its go-to-market strategy. He has provided marketing counsel, business strategy and executive leadership to a broad range of organizations worldwide for more than 30 years. His previous corporate experience was at Lawson Software, where he was chief marketing officer. He also has served as chief executive officer of public relations firm Shandwick International.

New to Xata, Chamberlain is responsible for sales, services and customer relations. He comes from Ecova, a provider of total energy, telecom and sustainability services, where he was senior vice president, sales and client management. He has extensive sales and services experience and brings a high level of knowledge in direct sales, channel sales, inside sales, services and customer relations.

“Both Scott and Steve are excellent leaders with several decades of experience,” says Jay Coughlan, CEO. “Scott has already helped us cement our position as an industry leader, and I’m confident he and Steve will both play crucial roles in helping us attract new customers, retain our existing customers and sell the cutting-edge products and services our customers have come to expect from Xata.”
