Founder of Gooch Brake & Equipment dies

Gooch Phillips, co-founder of Gooch Brake & Equipment, passed away at his home on March 16. He was 85.

Phillips co-founded his company in 1961 and was a life time member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He also was a charter member and past president of the Council of Fleet Specialists, and retired from Gooch Brake & Equipment in 2004.

Condolences may be offered at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com, and a memorial service will be held for Phillips at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Village Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Village Presbyterian Church, American Diabetes Association or the MS Society.
