Al Cohn, director of new market development and engineering support for Pressure Systems International, will be making the opening presentation at the 28th annual Clemson University Tire Industry Conference on April 18th at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort in Hilton Head, S.C. Cohn’s presentation will follow South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, the event’s keynote speaker.

According to PSI, conference Session 1 on April 18 titled “Our Industry and its Oversight” will be kicked off with Cohn discussing the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s new Compliance, Safety & Accountability (CSA) program and its effect on tires. Fleet safety scores under the CSA program can be adversely affected by many potential tire violations as spelled out in the program’s Safety Measurement System (SMS), PSI says. Cohn’s presentation will explain how each violation is measured and scored and will point out some potential problems with inspection determinations.
