Eight employees of Wiers, a fleet management company with three International Trucks dealerships, have been named to Navistar International’s 2011 Diamond Club for Service, which recognizes the highest level of quality customer care among sales and service professionalism in the transportation industry. International inducted 660 people nationwide into the Diamond Club; 31 were from Indiana, including eight from Wiers.

Diamond Club is a competition that Navistar International uses to recognize top performers in the categories of customer service and parts within its dealerships. The Club consists of three levels of awards: President’s Club / top winner, Diamond Club and Performance Club. The criteria used for the competition includes sales growth, required trainings and certifications, and other rigorous competency standards.

“Diamond Club is a voluntary program, which we participate in because it’s the right thing to do,” says Tom Wiers, owner and president of the company. “It’s valuable as an internal measurement of how well we run our processes, especially since many of the criteria reflect our company’s passion for excellence.”

The following Wiers employees received the Diamond Club Award, including a trip to Marco Island, Fla., a ring and a plaque:
• Bill Bailey, product support manager, Plymouth;
• Vonell Jenkins, service manager, Lafayette;
• Paul Swaim, product support manager, Lafayette; and
• Dale Urbin, service manager, Logansport.

Four additional Wiers employees achieved the Performance Club ranking, noted by a ring and plaque:

• Matthew Cripe, service manager, Plymouth
• John Okeeffe, director of parts, Plymouth
• Drew Hettlich, vice president of quality and operations, Plymouth; and
• Jeff Weaver, parts manager, Logansport

“Having eight of Wiers’ employees achieve Diamond Club awards sends an important message to our customers,” says Wiers. “This award is verification that we have qualified technicians and staff who, compared to our peers, were singled out for high honors. Achieving these awards is about challenging ourselves and reaching our own potential.”
