Diamond International featured on Motorhead Garage

Diamond Companies, a holding company for International Truck and IC Bus dealerships in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas, will be featured on a special “Big Rig” episode of the Motorhead Garage TV Series on the Fox Sports Network.

The episode, hosted by Sam Memmolo and Dave Bowman, will air on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 11:30 am EST and Monday, May 7, 2012 at 4:30 pm EST (check local listing as times may vary).

Motorhead Garage hosts Memmolo and Bowman explore trucking industry technology with special episodes focusing on semis, engine refits, trailer aerodynamics, fuel saving auxiliary power, computer engine tuning and more.

During their visit to Diamond International of Memphis, Bowman and Memmolo met with Richard “Dick” Sweebe, Diamond Companies president and CEO and several Diamond employees to learn about the heavy truck products and services the dealership offers.

The duo learned about International Truck’s proprietary MaxxForce engine. Diamond’s Mike Smith explained that MaxxForce engines do not use SCR and Randy McCullough explained what the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler does for a truck and why cleaning the cooler keeps the truck operating efficiently and can help prevent a costly replacement.

The team also learned about the processes Diamond International uses to improve vehicle uptime. Diamond’s Rickey Hall explained that having parts stocked in nearby warehouses and parts delivery trucks running daily scheduled routes help get the right part to the right place at the right time. Duke Fancher talked about the service innovations to get vehicles diagnosed and repaired quickly. And Diamond’s Jim Boncosky and Diamond Idealease customer Mark McCaskill of St. Clair Foods discussed how leasing simplifies transportation management.
