The Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, co-hosts of the 2012 Remanufacturing and Sustainability Conference, announce that AASA, HDMA and OESA (all associations affiliated with MERA) have joined AIAG, APRA, PERA and RIC as supporting organizations for the event.

The conference will be held Oct. 2, 2012 at the conference at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy, Mich. According to MERA, the program is intended for senior executives from across remanufacturing industries, as well as motor vehicle parts executives with an interest in remanufacturing, policymakers, and sustainability and financial industry executives.

The conference theme is “Remanufacturing and the Sustainable Organization,” which MERA says links remanufacturing with an organization’s overall sustainability strategy. Within the framework of the triple bottom line, speakers and panelists will discuss ways to build and market a sustainable organization, MERA says. They also will highlight how remanufacturing helps a company meet its sustainability goals, and the goals of its customers, particularly when the use of green products can be critical or have valuable incentives.

MERA also has set the time for its next Sales & Marketing Council meeting, 1 p.m. EST Oct. 1, 2012, at the Federal-Mogul headquarters in Southfield, Mich. The time and date were chosen to accommodate members of the council planning to attend “Remanufacturing and the Sustainable Organization” in Troy, Mich. on Oct. 2, MERA says.

The MERA Sales & Marketing Council is said to provide a forum for senior executives who oversee sales and marketing to address issues of common concern, share best practices, benchmark business performance, create practical industry tools and advance the remanufacturing industry.
