Diesel price jumps to $4.15

The national average retail diesel price increased 5.6 cents to $4.15 a gallon during the week ended Oct. 15, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. The latest weekly price is 34.9 cents above the same week last year.

The average diesel price rose in all regions, led by a 7.4-cent jump in the Rocky Mountain region. As usual, California’s diesel is most expensive on average at $4.437 per gallon. The Gulf Coast region has the least expensive diesel on average at $4.022 a gallon.
