Diesel’s latest trip below $4 a gallon nationwide lasted just two weeks as the national average retail diesel price rose by 5.8 cents to $4.034 a gallon during the week ended Nov. 26, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. The latest weekly price is 7 cents above the same week last year.

Diesel prices rose in all but one region, led by a 11.4-cent jump in the Midwest. Rocky Mountain states saw the only decrease, albeit a small one; prices slid 0.2-cent. Prices were highest on average in New England and the Central Atlantic at $4.203 a gallon. The least expensive diesel on average was in the Gulf Coast region at $3.902 a gallon.

Complete diesel price information is available on EIA’s Website.
