Diesel prices continue to fall

Diesel fuel continues its downward track in price, falling for the ninth time in 10 weeks.

The Department of Energy said Thursday the average price per gallon of diesel dropped 2.2 cents to settle at $3.923. The recent rash of downturns leaves trucking’s primary fuel nearly 23 cents per gallon below the $4.15 mark set Oct. 15 – a four year high.

The current price of diesel is, however, more than 13 cents per gallon higher than the same week last year.
