Continental Class 8 tire gets EPA nod

Continental Tire The Americas' New Drive Tire For Commercial Trucks – The Conti Eco Plus Hd3 – Has Been Verified By The Us Epa’s Smart Way Transport Partnership As A Low Rolling Resistance Drive Tire For Class 8, Line Haul Tractor TrailersContinental Tire the Americas LLC announced that its Conti EcoPlus HD3 – the company’s new generation drive tire for commercial trucks – has been verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership as a low rolling resistance drive tire for Class 8, line-haul tractor trailers.

The company says the Conti EcoPlus HD3 is a third-generation long-haul highway drive tire named to highlight its improved rolling resistance and EcoPlus technology. The tire is available in sizes 11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5.

The product is scheduled for release as a ContiTread retread in mid-2013.

Monday’s announcement give Continental 39 new and retreaded truck tire product lines listed as verified by SmartWay.
