BettsHD honored with PACCAR award

BettsHD has received the PACCAR 50PPM Quality Award for the second year in a row, and the third time overall.

The award is presented to suppliers who have met the OEM’s quality expectation of less than 50 PPM (parts per million) in quality defects.

Betts earned the distinction by lowering PPM, or product defects expressed in parts per million, to zero at its heavy-duty component manufacturing facility in Fresno, Calif., where the company’s lineup of spray suppression products are produced. BettsHD branded spray suppression products and other proprietary components are manufactured to PACCAR specifications.

“We have enjoyed a 70-plus year relationship with PACCAR and are honored to receive this recognition,” said Mike Betts, president, Betts Company. “Our achievement reflects the daily dedication of all Betts associates to meet and exceed customer expectations by delivering quality products on time.”

To meet the PACCAR PPM standard, BettsHD manufactures products to specification more than 99.995 percent of the time. In addition to maintaining a nonconforming parts rate of less than 50 PPM, PACCAR’s robust criteria also includes maintaining a warranty claims rate of less than 50 PPM (one claim per 20,000 receipts); Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) submission acceptance rate of 98 percent; an on-time submission rate of greater than or equal to 99 percent for the prior six months; maintaining a quality system in compliance with QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949 or ISO 9001 for 2008; and passing PACCAR’s Supplier Readiness Review.
