Fort Worth Freightliner • Western Star’s Monte Merritt has been awarded the Technician of the Year and placed first in the Technician and Truck Driving Championships held by the Texas Motor Transportation Association (TMTA).
Merritt will be honored at the Truck Safety/Maintenance Luncheon held on August 8 hosted by Great Dane Trailers.
Technician winners of this event receive prizes, a plaque and commemorative ring from Roadranger Marketing.

A past winner of this prestigious award, Merritt will also advance to compete in the SuperTech2013 Competition in Pittsburgh in September.
