Russell E. “Russ” Romer, a long-time, executive in the aftermarket, has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was 70.
Most recently, Romer was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the California Car Duster Company in Chatsworth, Cailf. and helped make the firm’s Original California Car Duster and Original California Drying Blade staples in the car care industry Prior to his lengthy tenure at CCDC Romer was a manufacturer’s rep.
In the late 1980s he owned and operated Lifeline Marine Product in Parker, Arizona —a premiere manufacturer of marine safety equipment. Russ was also an ardent and successful competitor on land and in the water, having set many APBA speed and endurance records that stand to this day.
He was active in sports car and stock car racing and served for many years as President of the Historic Stock Car Racing Association. Russ was born in San Mateo, California, twice married and divorced, and survived by his older brother, Richard.
