Con-way Freight will break ground on a new $3.7 million service center Sept. 25 in Robinson, Texas.

Located on a 12 acre site in the Robinson Industrial Park, the service center will also feature a driver training school.

Con-way Corporate Communications Director Gary Frantz says the new center will have an above-ground fuel island and a shop for minor repairs and preventive maintenance.

Con-way Freight, which was listed at No. 4 on the CCJ’s Top 250 fleets, says the expansion was prodded by growth in the South-Central Texas freight market.

“We’ve outgrown our existing facility in the past several years and opening the new, larger center helps us better meet future growth,” Frantz says of the new facility, which will double capacity from the current Bagby Avenue site.

The new location will be a 48 door facility, servicing 26 trucks 80 trailers.

Frantz says the company expects the facility to be operational by March.
