Bergstrom Inc. announces the acquisition of Innovative Product Development Corporation (IPDC), an engineering firm based in Troy, Mich.

According to Bergstrom, the acquisition is the result of a strategic partnership between the two companies that has lasted more than 18 years. Goeran Andersen, IPDC’s principal partner, and the rest of the IPDC team are recognized in the automotive and commercial vehicle HVAC industry as experts in system architecture and kinematics/motion controls design and analysis, the company says.

“Goeran and his team have more than 50 years of experience in state-of-the-art HVAC system design,” says John Bracey, vice president of global engineering for Bergstrom. “This acquisition expands our design engineering capabilities and offers Bergstrom a strategic location for recruitment of key experienced engineering resources available in the Detroit area in the future.”
