LKQ Heavy Truck – Goody’s is celebrating 75 years in the heavy-duty truck parts industry this year. Goody’s Truck Parts was founded by Goodman “Goody” Liber in 1939 on 13 acres as an automotive dismantling and repair yard.
In 1966, Goody’s expanded its business from automotive parts to medium- and heavy-duty truck parts. Soon after expansion Goody’s was introduced to the export market. Liber travelled the globe in search of new customers from Thailand, Columbia, Australia, and Mexico. Almost 50 years later and these customers remain with LKQ Heavy Truck-Goody’s, the company says.
The 1970’s Goody’s opened a rebuild shop for heavy-duty truck parts, specializing in transmissions and differentials. Today, Goody’s says the rebuild shop has five rebuild bays and over 150 years of rebuilding experience to help tackle any gearing needs.
In 2008, Goody’s Truck Parts joined LKQ Heavy Truck as one of the first acquisitions that would lead to LKQ Heavy Truck’s nationwide footprint in the heavy-duty industry.
In 2013, LKQ Heavy Truck Goody’s moved into a new location equipped with over 40 acres and 180,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space. Goody’s stocks more than 10,000 new, used, reconditioned and rebuilt differentials, engines, gearboxes and transmissions. The new warehouse also has the ability to stock hundreds of LKQ Heavy Truck aftermarket collision parts across a range of applications, the company says.
