The team consisted of students Ankur Agarwal (MSCM ’14), Joshua (Shijun) Ma (EGL BSE/MSE Industrial and Operations Engineering ’15), and Nikhil Vajandar (MSCM ’14). The team was tasked to reevaluate Cummins existing China remanufacturing strategy — from not only an operational perspective, but also a marketing/commercial viewpoint.
“We are extremely proud of Ankur, Joshua and Nikhil,” says Shawn Zwicker, chairman, Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) and global operations leader, remanufacturing at Cummins. “They did an outstanding job on behalf of Cummins and the Tauber Institute at the University of Michigan.”
“We congratulate the students and Cummins on this exceptional achievement, adds John Chalifoux, president and COO, MERA. “We strongly encourage collaborative initiatives among our members and leading academic institutions such as the University of Michigan.”
This year’s contest included 35 teams and 89 students, and was supported by 54 faculty and 26 sponsoring companies.
