P.S.I., Meritor host TTMA engineering committee

The Engineering Committee of the Truck Trailer Manufacturing Association (TTMA) held its annual meeting at the San Antonio headquarters of Pressure Systems International recently.

Meritor and Pressure Systems International, manufacturer of the Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) by P.S.I., are long time members of TTMA and offered to host this year’s Engineering Committee meeting.

In addition to the committee’s business meeting, functions hosted by P.S.I. and their N.A. marketing partner Meritor included a dinner, golf outing and a factory tour.  P.S.I. utilized their new educational and promotional trailer to present attendees with the latest in automatic tire inflation, statistics supporting proper inflation and its impact on fuel economy, tire life, safety, as well as a company and product overview.  P.S.I. may deploy similar trailers around the country to show the benefits of automatic tire inflation.

The TTMA Engineering Committee acts as a liaison between the organization and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Association and the Association of American Railroads.  They are responsible for examining multiple product categories as well as overall trailer designs. Steve Robinson, Director – OEM Sales & Dealer Programs, said. “On behalf of Meritor and P.S.I., we were extremely pleased to host this year’s Fall Engineering Meeting and have always appreciated and supported the TTMA organization, given the benefits that they provide our industry.”
