Tim Bauer has been named director, Remanufacturing, North America for Meritor Inc. Bauer is responsible for overall leadership, growth and profitability of the company’s remanufacturing activities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Tim’s deep understanding of Meritor’s customers, competitors and the value of extending the life of a part through remanufacturing will build Meritor’s leadership in this crucial part of our business,” says Rick Fulks, senior director, Aftermarket Operations for Meritor. “Tim’s two decades of involvement in Meritor’s remanufacturing sales, marketing and operations will be key to furthering our industry leadership in this important part of the aftermarket.”
Bauer, a 27-year employee of Meritor, was most recently director of Global Undercarriage Products.
Meritor’s remanufacturing activities take place at its 275,000-square-foot Plainfield, Indiana facility, which opened in 1999 and employs 330 people.
“We’re a leader in the remanufacturing business and strive for excellence so we can offer replacement parts that are rebuilt in line with OE standards and know-how,” Bauer says. “Meritor firmly believes in the value remanufacturing brings to our industry.”
