Pennsylvania-based McCarthy Tire Service has acquired Manassas, Va.-based Hartman Fleet Services, Inc. , which provides heavy mechanical services, fleet maintenance and repair, and mobile mechanical services to customers in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
John D. McCarthy, Jr., the fourth generation president of McCarthy Tire Service, says the acquisition fits with the company’s strategic plan, and “reflects an emphasis on providing a comprehensive plan to address all the vehicle needs of our commercial customers.”
Mike Hartman, president and owner of Hartman Fleet Services, and the firm’s eight employees have joined McCarthy Tire Service. They will join the team at McCarthy Tire’s existing location at 9073 Euclid Avenue in Manassas effective immediately under the direction of manager Stan Strickland.
McCarthy Tire has 45 locations along the East Coast. Its Manassas facility offers tires, tire services, and Bandag retreading for commercial, industrial, and off-the-road (OTR) vehicles; heavy mechanical services and mobile mechanical services for commercial vehicles; and tires, services, and repairs for passenger cars and light trucks. It is part of McCarthy Tire’s 24-hour commercial roadside assistance program for fleets and independent operators in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
With the acquisition, McCarthy Tire becomes the sixth largest commercial tire dealer in the U.S.
