Nuss Truck & Equipment found its way to the center of American politics Monday when President Donald Trump and senior White House advisors participated in a roundtable discussion at the company’s Burnsville, Minn., facility.
Nuss Truck & Equipment President Bob Nuss, who earned the American Truck Dealers (ATD) Dealer of the Year Award in 2017, says Monday’s event was a milestone and “extremely high honor” for his entire company. The event’s roundtable discussion focused mainly on tax reform, and the advantages tax relief can provide to small businesses.
“I couldn’t be more grateful to the president for the chance to share with him our success story, the positive results of tax reform for our small business, and to discuss issues facing our industry,” says Nuss.
Monday’s discussion also touched on federal excise tax and the ATD’s efforts to repeal the 102-year-old tax on the first retail sale of most new heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Nuss delivered a letter to President Trump asking for his support for FET repeal, and included an infographic showing the historical growth and expansion of the FET, and World War I-style posters promoting repeal of the 102-year-old tax.
