Bosch adds to HD starter lineup

Updated Apr 24, 2014

The Bosch Rotating Machines group has released three new Long Haul Starters that replace 186 competitive part numbers in heavy-duty on-road commercial applications.

The three new starters are designed for Freightliner, Navistar, Sterling, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack and other applications. Bosch says its proprietary shock-absorbing planetary gear system helps generate more torque for faster starts. This system resists kick back that prevents drive end breakage, a common problem on competitors’ designs, according to the company.

“At Bosch, we are always focused on meeting the needs of our customers, the market and the motorist,” says Timo Reif, vice president, product marketing, Automotive Aftermarket North America, Robert Bosch LLC. “We know that automotive service professionals depend on Bosch to be ready with quality parts that will be needed to service the vehicles that come in for repair. To that end, we are constantly expanding our coverage and regularly issuing new additions to our product lineup.”
