The Truck Writers of North America (TWNA) presented Eaton with its annual Technical Achievement Award for the company’s new line of Procision medium-duty transmissions earlier this month at the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tenn.
Procision is a dual-clutch transmission that delivers significant fuel efficiency improvements versus a similarly equipped vehicle with a torque converted automatic transmission. TWNA says criteria to qualify for the award includes a product’s technical innovation and it being applicable to vehicles and available to customers in 2015. A panel of editors representing major industry publications select winners from five finalists nominated by TWNA members.
“Eaton is honored to receive these awards,” says John Beering, senior vice president, Commercial Powertrain, Eaton. “This recognition is the result of dedicated, cross-functional teams working together to provide our customers with innovative solutions to meet and exceed their unique and diverse needs.”
