Capital Gear acquires DT Planetaries

Updated Nov 4, 2016

Capital Gear Ltd. Has announced the acquisition of the global distribution rights to DT Planetaries.

“The DT Planetary Hub System is exciting because it allows our customers to experience better performance in the field, with less wear and tear on the drivetrain,” says Gerard Zentner, president of Capital Gear Ltd.

“Traditionally, all full time planetary drive systems on Class 8 trucks that are geared high enough to achieve highway speed will lose their efficiency to perform in soft off-road conditions and in their ability to lift heavy loads. This shift-able system gives better fuel mileage when in direct drive, reduces heat build-up in the planetary gears, and with the increased torque at the wheel ends will reduce drive line torque and stress; all of which will reduce wear and tear on the entire drive system.”

The DT Hub System incorporates standard North American brake components when fitted onto rear ends from Meritor and Dana. The DT Hub fits onto 46,000 and 52,000 lb. rear ends in single, tandem, and tri-drive configurations.

Existing customers of DT Planetaries can expect a high level of customer service by Capital Gear’s highly trained and experienced parts and sales team. Capital Gear has a high commitment to honesty, integrity, and “never give up attitude,” the company says.
