NEXIQ Technologies releases its Aftertreatment Service Kit.
Part of the NEXIQ Diesel Tools and Accessories line, the Aftertreatment Service Kit is designed to be used during a cleaning routine to remove particulates and soot that impede or obstruct the honeycomb filter within the front face of a heavy-duty vehicle’s Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC),NEXIQ Technologies says. While diesel particulate matter buildup can prevent regeneration of the Aftertreatment system, reverse-flow air cleaning the DOC reduces AFT exhaust back pressure and enables the technician to safely run a Parked Regen.
NEXIQ Technologies says the kit includes the following items:
- 13 in. Aftertreatment Adapter
- 6 in. Aftertreatment Adapter
- Retaining Collar
- Retaining Straps
- Blow Gun Assembly
A source of compressed air and a shop vacuum equipped with a 2.5 ft. diameter hose (and a dust bag to capture soot removed from the DOC) are also required (not included in the kit), the company says.
The Aftertreatment Service Kit is available for purchase from NEXIQ product distributors.
