GALLERY – Meritor training team hits the road

It’s training season at Meritor.

The company’s fully equipped training vans are currently in the midst of two national tours, stopping at various aftermarket businesses to provide comprehensive training on most Meritor product lines in service in today’s trucking landscape.

Meritor Training Manager Rick Martin was in the greater Chicago area late last week for training events at New Life Transport Parts/Road Equipment Parts Center in Bedford Park, Ill., and CIT Kenworth in Mokena, Ill.

Martin covered roll stability, electrical systems and tractor/trailer ABS and air disc brakes at the first event, and dove in foundation brakes, air disc and cam, at the second event.

Open to all Meritor customers, the company’s training events focus heavily on the importance of diagnosis and finding root cause.

“If you can be a diagnostician, you will have a job for life,” says Martin. “Because if you don’t know how something is going to operate normally, how will you be able to tell when it’s operating abnormally?”
