Snap-on releases new crop of shop tools

Snap-on has released four new tools for use by technicians in service facilities.

“Summer is definitely one of the busiest times of the year for most shops, and Snap-on wants to lend a hand by offering techs the tools they need to beat the rush,” says Brian Woller, product manager for Snap-on. “Sometimes it’s just about having the perfect plier set or a durable pocket knife for those everyday demands. Whatever the need, we’ve got techs covered.”

Snap-on says the new products include a three-piece precision plier set, gasket knives, multiple five-piece wire insertion tool sets and an oil filter housing flip socket for automotive service.

The plier set is designed to minimize hand fatigue with an internal torsion spring that returns the pliers to the opening position, the company says. They aremade of ball-bearing grade steel and built to withstand greater impact than competitive models.

The gasket knives are designed to be useable in wet working conditions. Snap-on says the black DLC coated N690 steel blade measures 2.625 in. and is available for right- or left-handed carry with Speedsafe smooth, one-handed opening. The knives come in red, blue, bronze or black and have a lanyard hole at the end of the handle.

The wire set makes working with wires easier for techs. The radius handle end allows wire sheathing to be pulled smoothly without damage. This wire insertion tool set is a must-have for work on RVs, trailers, aviation and marine equipment, remote starters and alarm systems, the company says.

The flip socket works for 2011 to 2014 import and domestic light-duty vehicles, Snap-on says.
