SuperTech winner returns to podium for second time

Christopher Tate of Mohawk Truck was crowned the 2021 ATA Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) SuperTech Grand Champion during the TMC Fall Meeting Wednesday in Cleveland.

This is Tate's second SuperTech championship. He previously won the competition in 2009.

“On behalf of TMC, I’m thrilled to congratulate Christopher Tate on achieving top honors at this year’s competition, earning the title TMCSuperTech Grand Champion,” says TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell. “This competition showcases the most skilled and knowledgeable truck technicians the industry has to offer, and this award is a testament to Chris’ professional talent and a distinguished milestone in his career as he wins his second Grand Championship title.”

Tate was joined on the victory podium Wednesday by Joseph C. Anderson Jr., and Michael Kerfoot, both of Travel Centers of America, who placed second and third overall. TravelCenters of America also won the 2021 team award in the event, a one-day, one-track competition featuring a written test and 11 skills stations, organized in a table-top format.
