Fontaine Specialized: New spreaders more versatile

A trio of Fontaine Specialized trailers, from one to three axles.

Fontaine Specialized debuted upgrades for its hydraulic equalizing spreaders for the Magnitude series lowbed trailers.

Redesigned Magnitude spreaders feature improved geometry that Fontaine Specialized says enables them to raise the rear axles off the ground for more convenient maneuvering. The trailers have 25,000 lbs. of capacity per axle.

The EQ1 is a single-axle spreader with an optional rear flip axle. The EQ2 is a tandem-axle configuration and has an optional intermediate and a rear flip axle. The EQ3 has an integrated first axle, optional intermediate and rear flip axle.

All EQ spreaders integrate with any Magnitude fixed or modular deck model.

"Our Magnitude series is a truly versatile line of heavy-haul lowbed trailers with ratings ranging from 55 to 80 tons," says Heather Gilmer, Fontaine Specialized vice president of sales. "In addition to the enhanced hydraulic equalizing spreaders, Magnitude trailers feature a dual cam pawl gooseneck and a robust tridem bogie offering seven ride-height positions at the front and rear. This heightened flexibility is invaluable for operators who need to move loads over obstacles or under bridges."
