Clarience Technologies brands Roll Rite, Ranger Design and Ecco introduced new innovations to support the work truck industry during Work Truck Week 2026 Wednesday in Indianapolis, Ind.

Roll Rite changes the tarp game

Roll Rite introduced its newest tarp innovation, the Roll Rite DC800 Series Tarp Systems with TORC pivot technology (patents pending). Roll Rite says the first-of-its-kind solution is first being introduced for roll-off and hooklift vehicles that use a tarp to contain a load in waste, recycling and demolition sectors.

Using a patented fixed or sliding pivot system, the new DC800 Series tarp systems employ TORC pivot technology that provides superior tarp hold-down power to secure payloads on a variety of different container sizes. The tarp enables better containment through the use of an industry-first tension system. An upgraded sliding pivot unit will feature an additional 16 in. of travel for a total of 36 in. of travel to cover a greater range of container sizes.

“This unique design is unlike anything the industry has seen in more than 30 years,” says Scott Kartes, vice president and general manager of Safe Fleet’s Covering Solutions Division. “The DC800 Series tarp system eliminates the hassles and unpredictability of the traditional spring and cylinder systems with an innovative solution that doesn’t require costly maintenance or driver oversight. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Traditionally, Roll Rite says tarp systems use steel springs or hydraulic cylinders that hold the tarp down but sometimes also require the driver to tie it down. By the time the tarp is in position with a conventional steel spring system, there is little torque left in the spring, resulting in less capacity to secure the tarp. Hydraulic systems also present several issues including the cost to maintain cylinders, which will leak even for the best drivers, resulting in costly regular repairs and a tarp system that isn’t as tight and secure on the load.

Roll Rite says these issues are eliminated by the new DC800 Series tarp system, which provides up to three times more power than previous Roll Rite systems and maintains virtually the same amount of force at the starting point as compared to when the tarp is in place without additional parts that wear over time. Additionally, the DC800 Series does not require a driver to tie it down, making it safer.

Ranger Design enhances utility solutions

Ranger Design also was busy Wednesday, releasing its Trazer Canopy, the newest addition to its Trazer Truck Utility System for pickup trucks, and the B-Series, a new entry-level shelving line for work vans.

According to the company, the Trazer Canopy provides a weather-resistant, closed space in the truck bed with a unique anti-theft design. Its lift-up door with a gas shock ensures effortless access to larger and weather-sensitive equipment. The Canopy is designed to integrate seamlessly with the heavy-duty rack and toolboxes, creating a cohesive system that maximizes storage, protection and organization across the entire truck bed. And like all Trazer Truck Utility System components, the company says it is designed for a drill-free installation, making upfitting faster and preserving the integrity of the vehicle.

“With the Trazer Canopy, we are completing the final piece of the Trazer Truck Utility System, giving professionals a modular grow-as-you-need solution,” says Martin Lapointe, Ranger Design vice president of business development. “Combined with the rack and toolboxes, it delivers a fully integrated truck bed system that offers unmatched versatility, security and efficiency for today’s trades.”

The B-Series also delivers the quality and durability that Ranger Design is known for, now at an accessible price point suited to tradespeople, independent contractors and growing fleets. Available for both low roof and high roof vans and comes in 36 in., 48 in., and 60 in., lengths to fit a variety of van configurations.
