Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes announced a new fully automated solution for commercial vehicle paint.
"Fleet refinishing shops need automated paint dispensers primarily to reduce significant material waste and drastically increase shop productivity," says Dan Szczepanik, global director with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, commercial vehicle finish. "By automating the mixing process, shops can handle a higher volume of jobs with fewer mistakes and lower labor costs. This revolutionary unit is perfect for commercial vehicle refinishing, as it is built for high volume output, dispensing from 32 ounces up to five gallons. It reduces rework by eliminating the human error in color assessment and mixing, and with its connection to our inventory optimization, it helps maintain optimal stock levels and provides real-time inventory access, reducing the need to store a large range of pre-defined shades."

The Pronto XL reduces waste with a single dispense head and 20 ingredients, Sherwin-Williams says, allowing the unit to dispense into quarts, gallons and pails in minutes. It can also dispense paint with accuracy down to 0.01 g, ensuring the best matches, the company says. It's also fits in just four feet by four feet of floor space.
The Pronto XL system mixes in about five minutes, 50% faster than traditional methods, Sherwin-Williams says, and allows technicians to focus on other tasks while it mixes paint. It's part of the Sherwin-Williams Collision Core suite of collision repair solutions.
