Innovative Products of America (IPA) added four new models to its Ranger MUTT trailer tester line with integrated power tool battery adapters.
"The new 18V and 20V Ranger MUTT models are for shops and mobile technicians who want reliable trailer testing and a faster, more flexible way to test trailers anywhere without a tow vehicle or dedicated power source," says Ian Vinci, president of IPA. "A technician can independently power trailer circuits, verify operation, isolate faults and maximize efficiency — allowing for more tests per charge with fewer battery swap-outs."

The new testers are the #9101-18C Light Ranger MUTT and the #9102-18C Heavy Ranger MUTT (compatible with Milwaukee 18V batteries) as well as the #9101-D20C Light Ranger MUTT and #9102-D20C Heavy Ranger MUTT (compatible with DeWalt 20V batteries). The patent-pending battery adapter design acts as a precision-regulated power plant, stabilizing current while providing a failsafe barrier that protects the trailer, circuitry and battery cells from short circuits.
IPA's patent-pending adapter regulates power tool battery output for the demands of trailer testing, reducing thermal buildup and suppressing RF interference to maximize battery and tool performance.
