Remy Inc. announced a new four year, unlimited mile warranty for all new school bus applications equipped with the Delco Remy 40SI high-output alternator. In addition, Remy issued a three-year warranty with unlimited miles on its 28SI high output series for the same applications.
“This level of warranty protection demonstrates Remy’s assurance in the design and performance of the Delco Remy 28SI and 40SI high-output alternators in the most demanding of school bus applications,” says Kent Jones, vice president of North American Heavy Duty Sales and Marketing. “Given this additional coverage, our customers can share our confidence that these models will perform to their expectations.”
According to the announcement, the Delco Remy 28SI and 40SI meets or exceeds all state school bus specification requirements. Slow speeds and short distances between stops are common running conditions for school buses and this type of operation requires an alternator that can put the optimum level of amperage back into the battery between stops, the company says. Delco Remy says its alternators address this issue by coming equipped with Remote Sense, a technology that optimizes battery state of charge and is proven to extend the life of the battery.
