Bendix Spicer Releases New Spring Brake

Updated Jan 21, 2011

Bendix Spring Brake1Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week 2011 was the backdrop for the release of Bendix Spicer’s newest product, a new double-diaphragm spring brake for heavy-duty drum braking systems. The new product is called the Bendix EverSure spring brake with No Touch technology. According to Bendix, the new brake provides “best in class durability and performance,” and is designed to aftermarket industry standard dimensions.

“In engineering the EverSure spring brake, we created a high-performing spring brake that is significantly lighter and, at the same time, more robust than others on the market,” says Mark Kromer, chief engineer of actuation/slack adjuster products for Bendix Spicer. “The new spring brake, like all Bendix products, meets the strictest standards for performance and durability. It’s the latest demonstration of BSFB’s leadership in providing solutions to the commercial vehicle industry.”

The main functions of the EverSure brake are to provide brake force and improved parking brake capabilities, Bendix Director of Marketing Gary Ganaway says.

The EverSure spring brake is two pounds lighter than most competitive spring brakes, and includes a reinforced diaphragm equipped to deal with all industry standard weights, according to the company. The lighter weight brake leads to lower vibration levels and prolonged life, according to a Bendix news release.

While the new brake is designed for the aftermarket, Bendix claims the EverSure brake also meets all requirements for original equipment manufacturers.

“On the most basic level, our customers can rest assured that, with this product, their vehicles will park – and stay parked. We are excited to have the EverSure spring brake as the most recent addition to our product line,” Ganaway says.
