Hunter Industries has introduced a new rotor lathe that is said to improve the machining of the rotor on medium- and heavy-duty service vehicles. The model OCL430HD rotor lathe is hub mounted and is said to significantly reduce runout and extend rotor life. According to Hunter, the OCL430HD includes all of the operational features of it’s OCL410 light-vehicle brake lathe, and adds more robust lathe components to handle larger rotors.
The OCL430HD resurfaces rotors up to 17.5 inches in diameter and up to 3.5 inches in thickness. It also comes equipped with a 1.5-hp, 230 VAC motor to provide torque required for medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
According to Hunter, the OCL430HD can adjust speeds “on the fly” and alter lateral runout with the push of a button. The new product also is said to feature anti-chatter technology to minimize machining problems.
