Kelly Tires creates in-city applications

Kelly TiresKelly has introduced a new drive tire, designed for traction in pickup and delivery applications, as well as in specialty applications, such as school bus and metro operations.

Available in 225 and 245/70R19.5 sizes, the new, open-shoulder Kelly KTD is said to feature a beefy traction-block tread design with 400 molded-in sipes to enhance traction. For curbing and scrubbing, the KTD features tough rubber compounds to help resist chunking, chipping and cracking, according to the company. The tire’s tread radius is said to help evenly distribute pressure for more even wear.

According to Andrea Berryman, marketing manager, the KTD is an excellent performer in around-town performance for both commercial and metro operations. “It’s built tough with a great tread design and compounding to help withstand the daily bumps and bruises the tire encounters during in-city driving,” she says.  “Plus, the Kelly KTD offers buttressed sidewalls to help extend casing life.”
