Hendrickson expands production of Primaax Suspension

Primaax Rear SuspensionHendrickson has increased the production and sales of the Primaax Ex heavy-duty rear air suspension. According to Hendrickson, the Primaax Ex was specifically designed for the rigors of heavy-haul applications and can be packaged with disc and drum brakes.

Primaax is approved for 100 percent of off-road usage, and is said to incorporate highly durable structural beams to integrate the cross beam attachment points for greater reliability. Primaax Ex disc brake suspensions also include optional arched longitudinal torque rods, which are said to provide necessary clearance for disc brakes.

Introduced in 2008, Primaax Ex is now available in 40,000 lb. and 46,000 lb. disc brakes configurations for Peterbilt’s 320 low cab model.

Hendrickson has also created Primaax Ex disc brake options for Kenworth Truck Company and Volvo Trucks North America, and tridem drum brake configurations for International.

The new Primaax Ex disc brake options are available on a variety of Kenworth chassis, including the C500, T800 and W900 models.  These new configurations have been added to the current drum brake options already available in 46,000 lb., 52,000 lb., and 69,000 lb. capacities.

The new Primaax Ex disc brakes for Volvo trucks can be spec’d and tandem as tridem configurations on both the VNL and VHD chassis models.

At International, Primaax Ex will now be available for WorkStar chassis with 69,000 lb capacity tridem configurations. The 69,000 lb. capacity is the first Hendrickson tridem configuration for an International truck.

“Primaax Ex has been in popular demand for various demanding work truck applications, including refuse, dump, oil field, logging, mixer-, and many other on- and off-highway applications,” says Sean Coleman, Hendrickson director of sales and marketing. “The demand continues to grow, because of the versatility of the suspension design. Hendrickson has been able to take the base configuration of Primaax Ex and expand into niche applications that have unique requirements.”
