Eaton acquires electrical business in Colombia

Eaton Corp. announced it has acquired the assets of C.I. ESI de Colombia S.A., a Bogota, Colombia-based reseller of industrial electrical equipment and engineering focused on oil and gas, mining and industrial and commercial construction. Terms were not disclosed. The company had sales of about $8 million in 2010.

“ESI is an established organization with strong relationships with electrical OEMs and distributors in Colombia,” says Rich Stinson, Eaton’s president, power distribution – Americas Region, Electrical Sector. “This acquisition will help grow Eaton’s presence in Colombia and serve as a platform for future growth in the region.”
