Treadway to serve as panelist for Succession Planning Series

Updated Jul 12, 2011

Dixon Hughes Goodman and Keith Ely & Associates announced that the second session of the “Building a Roadmap for the Future” will be held at the 2011 Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference on Aug. 25 in Dallas. The first session held at the 2011 American Truck Dealers Convention addressed “The Emotional Planning and Transition” and covered the importance of having a sound plan in place while working through the emotional planning and transition.

The second session in the series, “The Plan: Establishing the Plan & Grooming the Successors,” will include guest panelist Kyle Treadway, ATD chairman and president of Kenworth Sales Co. Treadway and other panelists will address topics that go beyond the emotional transition and into the establishment of a succession plan and ensuring successors are properly educated and groomed to take ownership.

Additional panelists include James L. “Butch” Williams, partner-in-charge of the Dixon Hughes Dealer Services Group; Keith Ely of Keith Ely & Associates; and Hugh Roberts, partner with The Rawls Group. This session will be moderated by Denise Rondini, Successful Dealer executive director.

“Launching this unique series proved to be a success across the heavy-truck industry,” Williams says. “We have hit on a topic that is rarely discussed but is one that requires communication and education for dealers as they look towards the succession of their roles in the dealership. Our partnership with Keith Ely & Associates and The Rawls Group with Successful Dealer as our series moderator ensures that we get the right information in front of the dealers to better help them execute their business succession plans.”
