The aerodynamic Kenworth T700 equipped with the Paccar MX engine will be featured in Kenworth’s booth (No. 12137) at the Great American Trucking Show Aug. 25 -27 at the Dallas Convention Center.
The Kenworth T700 possesses the lowest aerodynamic drag of any Kenworth truck in the company’s history and has received Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay program designation. It targets over-the-road and team driver operations with 60 cu. Ft. of interior storage and an 8-ft. cathedral ceiling, and is said to offer excellent low-cost operation, superior driver comfort and modern styling.
The MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380 hp to 485 hp and torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft. According to the company, this power range, combined with excellent fuel efficiency, high reliability, durability, lightweight design and low cost of ownership, makes it an ideal choice for both over-the-road line-haul and vocational applications.
A Kenworth T800 heavy hauler equipped with 38-in. AeroCab sleeper, 2010 Cummins ISX15 engine, and Eaton UltraShift Plus transmission also will be featured. The T800 has been the standard choice among vocational users because of its visibility and maneuverability, the company says. Improvements over the last 25 years by Kenworth, such as the large cooling package for heavy haulers and Kenworth Extended Day Cab option, are said to have improved the model’s cost of ownership and resale values.
Kenworth also will exhibit a special kiosk of the Kenworth NavPlus, a Paccar proprietary navigation and business technology system for Class 5-8 trucks. The PC-based, in-dash system includes true truck-specific navigation, vehicle data, hands-free phoning, audio controls (including satellite radio, AM/FM, CD, MP3 and USB), camera inputs, roadside assistance and optional Internet access.
