Alcoa displays new 14-inch wheels at TMC

Alcoa is presented its newest product, 58 lb. wide-base aluminum wheels to the heavy-duty market this week at the American Trucking Associations’ TMC annual meeting in Tampa.

According to Alcoa, the new wheels are 4 lbs. lighter than their predecessors, and will provide nearly 1,400 lbs. in total weight reduction over the truck and trailer connection. Released in late January, the wheels are available as original specs and can be retro-fitted if necessary.

The wheels were designed using a CAD design and fits all OE standards, Alcoa says. They are said to have load ratings of up to 12,800 pounds and are available in 0-, 1- and 2-inch offsets to fit all axle types; each wheel roll stamp indicates offset mounting position, and the roll stamp, valve hole and valve stem direction on all wheels are indicated to ensure proper installation for all axle types.
