Trojan displays new batteries at TMC

Trojan Battery introduced its two heavy-duty battery models to the trucking industry this week at the American Trucking Associations’ TMC annual meeting in Tampa, Fla.

Trojan has produced deep-cycle batteries for more than 60 years and entered the heavy-duty market in 2007. According to Brad Bisaillon, sales manager of strategic accounts and transportation, Trojan entered the market in an attempt to produce two batteries geared specifically for the different requirements of the two batteries used in a heavy-duty truck.

The result is the introduction of the OverDrive AGM 31 deep-cycle endurance battery and the TransPower ST1000 starting battery. According to Trojan, each battery was designed to maximize performance of separate functions needed by a heavy-duty electrical system, and Trojan says it is the only company currently producing batteries built specifically for starting and deep-cycle systems.
