Mitchell 1, Noregon ink agreement

Updated Mar 8, 2012

Mitchell 1 and Noregon Systems have entered into an agreement to develop an interface between Mitchell 1’s Repair-Connect.net and Noregon’s JPRO Commerical Fleet Products. The companies say this agreement will reduce vehicle down-time for companies subscribing to the new service. The announcement was made March 6 at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

According to the companies, the agreed-to interface will enable Noregon to capture and pass a VIN and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) into Mitchell 1’s Repair-Connect.net and retrieve the following DTC related service information: description of trouble code, related wiring diagrams, component connector views, electrical component locator, testing procedures, removal and installation procedures and DTC-related specifications. By instantaneously delivering DTC specific diagnostic and repair information to service personnel, elapsed time between initial trouble detection and fully repaired vehicle will be shortened, the companies say, thus quickly returning the vehicle to service. It is said that no additional look-up of repair information will be required to complete the service correctly.

Mitchell 1’s Repair-Connect.net web-based application, introduced in 2010, uses DTC to gather all the information required to fix a problem identified by the code, Mitchell 1 says.
