Jacobs Vehicle Systems announces it has developed its first natural gas engine brake for the Cummins ISX12 G.
As regulations continue to drive fuel alternatives, Jacobs says the shift to natural gas is expected to grow and, with that, so will the evolution of engine braking technology.
Development of an Engine Brake for a natural gas engine is just another example of Jacobs’ technical ability to meet those challenges, the company says.
The engine brake is the result of a two-year collaboration between Jacobs and Cummins engineers to provide an engine brake to exceed the design challenges associated with a natural gas engine, the company says. The Engine Brake by Jacobs will be offered as optional equipment and will be available in 2013.
