Updated Apr 23, 2012

Edmonton Kenworth received the 2011 Kenworth Dealer of the Year Award for the United States and Canada at the annual Kenworth Dealer Meeting held recently in Columbus, Ohio.

“There are many outstanding Kenworth dealers, so this award is certainly a very special achievement,” says Gary King, president of Edmonton Kenworth. “We especially thank our many customers for their business, and we look forward to continuing to provide them with excellent support and Kenworth’s complete range of heavy- and medium-duty trucks.”

Edmonton Kenworth was selected from among Kenworth’s six Gold Award winners for 2011. Other Gold Award winners are GreatWest Kenworth (Calgary, Alberta), Kenworth of South Louisiana (Gray, La.), MHC Kenworth – Colorado (Denver), MHC Kenworth-Oklahoma (Oklahoma City) and Wallwork Kenworth (Fargo, N.D.).

“Edmonton Kenworth had an outstanding performance during 2011,” says Gary Moore, Kenworth general manager and Paccar vice president. “Edmonton Kenworth sold and leased a very significant number of Kenworth trucks, achieved strong market share in both heavy- and medium-duty truck sales, operated excellent facilities and provided exceptional customer support.”

Edmonton Kenworth is a major supplier of trucks, parts and service to the oilfield, logging and highway markets in the Edmonton region and northern Alberta. Edmonton Kenworth now has received three Kenworth Dealer of the Year awards, eight Gold Awards and a Kenworth Customer Support Dealer of the Year award in the past 11 years. The dealer’s leasing operation (PacLease Edmonton Kenworth) received the PacLease North American Franchise of the Year award in both 2009 and 2011.

During the Kenworth Dealer Meeting, Kenworth also honored its 14 Silver Award winners for 2011: Custom Truck Sales, Kenworth of Jacksonville, Kenworth Maska, Kenworth Sales Co., MHC Kenworth-Kansas City, MHC Kenworth-Texas, Papé Kenworth of Oregon, Rihm Kenworth, Motor Power Kenworth-Great Falls, Kenworth of South Texas, Kenworth Quebec, Wichita Kenworth, Wisconsin Kenworth and Worldwide Equipment of West Virginia.

Rihm Kenworth was named 2011 Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year for the United States and Canada. “Rihm Kenworth has a strong commitment and dedication to provide its customers with excellent Kenworth medium-duty trucks and to offer outstanding support after the sale,” Moore says.

Theaward is a significant achievement the dealership, says Kari Rihm, president and chief executive officer of Rihm Kenworth, which has locations in St. Paul, Albert Lea and Sauk Centre, Minn., and Superior, Wis. “The hard work of our many employees, combined with the broad flexible Kenworth product line, enables Rihm Kenworth to provide quality medium-duty trucks to customers in a variety of market segments, including agriculture, petroleum, medical logistics, regional haul, pickup and delivery, utility and even the local newspaper,” Rihm says.

Rihm Kenworth nearly tripled its medium-duty trucks sales last year. “Over many years, our business strategy has been to invest in dedicated well-trained sales personnel, and to stock trucks and parts inventories so that our dealership becomes the truck dealer of choice in our community,” Rihm said. “This strategy helps us to offer customers a high level of quality support for their medium-duty truck operations.”

MHC Kenworth-Kansas City was named the first recipient of the new Kenworth Paccar MX Dealer of the Year award for the United States and Canada. “We’ve seen a tremendous customer response to the Paccar MX engine due to its outstanding performance in drivability and fuel economy,” said Tim Murphy, CEO of MHC, which operates 43 Kenworth dealerships in 10 states, including MHC Kenworth-Kansas City.

“This award represents our commitment to help customers appreciate the benefits of the MX engine and to provide them with world-class service for this world-class engine,” Murphy said. Such support includes engine diagnostics equipment, service technician training and on-hand inventory of Paccar MX engine parts.

“More than 20,000 trucks now operate with the Paccar MX engine in various customer applications throughout North America,” Moore said. “MHC Kenworth-Kansas City has done an exceptional job at achieving a high rate of customer acceptance of the Paccar MX engine while also providing excellent customer support.”
