Phillips releases battery status indicator

Updated May 11, 2012

V CheckPhillips Industries has introduced new 24-volt and 12-volt V-Check 1 battery status indicators.

According to Phillips, the V-Check 1 can ensure vehicle operators that their batteries have all the power they need. The V-Check 1 continuously monitors the state of power for any battery, particularly lift gate batteries, and flashes Red if they are too low. Batteries can then be charged before they are needed, eliminating a situation where battery power is required but not available, the company says.

Phillips V-Check 1 is said to alert operators during pre-trip inspections that battery power may be lower than required to complete the day’s tasks. If battery voltage is more than 12.4 volts or 75 percent power, Phillips says the LED light flashes green but if the voltage falls below 12.39 volts, the light will blink red indicating that batteries should be charged before the trailer leaves on the next trip.
