FleetPride acquires Westpac Heavy Duty

Updated May 23, 2012

Fleet PrideFleetPride, Inc. has acquired the assets of Westpac Heavy Duty, Inc., doing business as C.W. Carter Co. of Phoenix, and Westpac Heavy Duty of California, LLC located in Mira Loma, Calif. Fleet Pride says employment offers have been extended to all employees of both entities.

Westpac Heavy Duty was founded in 1929 as C.W. Carter Co. The Phoenix location has been in operation since 1959.

“Under Charlie Weston’s leadership, Westpac Heavy Duty became an even stronger organization with experienced employees who are well-known for the relationships they have with their customer base,” says Lee Stockseth, FleetPride president and COO. “Adding this momentum and market presence to our existing branches in Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson will make FleetPride an even stronger distributor.”

He adds, “By further extending our asset footprint in Southern California, we are better able to serve FleetPride and Westpac Heavy Duty customers in the Inland Empire. This is an extremely dense market for the heavy-duty trucking industry, with a very diverse customer base for us.”

With this addition, FleetPride now has four locations in Arizona and 22 in California.

“This acquisition will further strengthen our capabilities, expand our customer base and position FleetPride for ongoing growth as we work to meet the needs of heavy-duty fleet operators and owners. We continue to develop strategic alliances with successful distributors/owners in the industry when it is beneficial to both parties,” says W.M. McGee, FleetPride chairman and CEO.
