WABCO completes European service challenge

Updated Jul 9, 2012

WABCO Holdings Inc. has completed its WABCO Service Partner Challenge 2012, a competition within its European network of partner workshops to demonstrate skills in servicing commercial vehicles.

WABCO says its Service Partner Challenge started in March 2012 with an online exam among 1,367 workshops in 33 European countries to test competencies on key WABCO systems. Top-scoring workshops from 10 countries advanced to the competition’s second round, a practical test of each team’s diagnostic capabilities, hands-on skills, speed and efficiency.

The company says the practical test was performed within a time limit on a WABCO truck and semi-trailer equipped with the latest WABCO technology, including an electronic braking system for trailers, electronically controlled air suspension, an integrated vehicle tire pressure monitoring system and TrailerGUARD telematics, a state-of-the-art technology for trailer fleet management.

The test vehicle, which traveled to each finalist’s workshop during May and June, was fitted with intentional faults for each team to identify and fully resolve, the company says.

“WABCO’s industry-leading standards and service capabilities strongly differentiate WABCO in the aftermarket, particularly for fleets,” says Nick Rens, WABCO vice president, trailer systems and aftermarket. “Our 2012 workshop challenge has enabled our partners across Europe to demonstrate why customers highly value WABCO’s service excellence and product quality. We are passionate about providing customers with safe, efficient and peak performance over the lifetime of their commercial vehicles.”
