Featured in the 2013 Welding Gear Catalog, these brushes are intended for proper cleaning of the base material before welding starts and also between each pass. The line, organized by base material, is said to include the following models:
- Stainless steel: A general purpose brush designed for long life and efficient surface cleaning.
- Aluminum: Designed to gently remove the oxide layer that can form on aluminum.
- Carbon steel: Designed to make fast work of rust, mill scale and paint.
“To avoid cross-contamination that could ruin your work, it’s important to have different brushes for different materials,” says Jamy Bulan, product manager, retail and accessory products at Lincoln Electric. “Your welds will have a better appearance and fewer defects with proper cleaning of the base material.”
These brushes also are available in a three-pack, which the company says features three toothbrush-style brushes: one with brass bristles for aluminum, one with stainless bristles for stainless steel and a nylon-bristle brush for general cleaning on carbon steel.
